![]() ![]() I'm another person who has used this software for many years and have purchased several different versions over that time. I'm also someone who tried switching over to Paprika (like many other users) but I just didn't like the 's like a slightly dumbed down version of MacGourmet.so I abandoned it pretty quick and went back to MacGourmet. But I can't say that I'm real happy with Mariner Software either. You can not do wireless syncing of just doesn't work. I loved this program when I first started using it but lately, not so much.If you want that from your recipe software you'll have to look elsewhere. I've seen multiple write-ups here and on the Mariner support site complaining about the inability to sync between devices. My sister, mother, and I have all had the same issue. Mariner gives the same standard response about deleting and recreating the account and then trying to sync. That is a lazy form of support, and it's clear they have not investigated the issue. It doesn't work if the recipes are on an iOS device because the device WILL NOT recognize the new account, even when one tries a reset. ![]() ![]() I found the issue and work around last night, and my sister just confirmed it as well. If there is a picture attached to the recipe, regardless of device, IT WILL NOT SYNC! The only work around is to delete the picture from the recipe. Note that this work around works only on the Mac, as the iOS app won't allow you to delete pictures. I've notified Mariner of the issue on their support blog. Lampornis's Review of Gourmet Mobile Reviewed on 8/30/19 2:02 PM Think Mariner does not care about this app star star star_border star_border star_border Mariner needs to take user issues seriously and they need to put more effort into researching the causes behind the issues. I have been a user of the desktop and iOS versions of this program for years. The desktop version of the program still works well in spite of the fact that no updates have come for years. The iOS apps have been, and continue to be a disappointment. The cloud sync has never worked for me since Mariner decided to use their own servers (when I was able to sync via Dropbox or iCloud it worked fine). Now, nothing I delete on my desktop gets deleted on my iOS devices after a sync. When I edit a record I get duplicate records for the same item (both the pre and post-edit version). I have tried the standard delete everything and start from scratch instructions on the Mariner website without success. Mariner “support” could not solve the issue and about two years ago stopped responding to my requests. It is clear to me that they are milking this program for all it is worth before it is retired. There is no evidence that they plan to develop or truly support it any further. I would NOT purchase this program if you are looking for something to create a recipe or beverage database. When Mariner purchased the software they eliminated the user forum, which I always found helpful, and pretty much any means of contacting support beyond submitting a service ticket. The developers don’t update this app star star star_border star_border star_border Another clear indication that they simply want to minimize complaints. Rachel575's Review of Gourmet Mobile Reviewed on 12/13/17 1:55 PM #Macgourmet update# I am fed up with this app and the developers seem to have abandoned it. I originally chose this one because I had MacGourmet on my Mac. It was okay for viewing recipes from my Mac and occasionally importing them. ![]()
